I think Joss Whedon, Francis Lawrence (who directed Constantine) or the guys who did the Shannara Chronicles could make a good showing for it. Otherwise, I’d say engage a Japanese studio to produce it as an anime and see about running it on SyFy and Adult Swim. As long as someone rode herd on them to make sure we get something at least as close to the books as GoT was. The last thing we need is another “use the names and title, and screw the actual story” effort like some of adaptations that people have already mentioned.
