ParticipantHello! It has been a while since I have read the series. I sometimes choose a random book in the series to reread, but I have not come across an answer to this yet. I know there has been werewitch hybrid stuff from, well, evil breeding programs. Is it ever addressed whether or not a witch can be turned into a were or vampire? Are they simply immune? Would they turn into a were/vamp and simply lose their magic? Are there any explanations for this? If anyone can direct me to the book where this might be covered I would appreciate it, cuz if its possible, Tanya should turn Declan! Or maybe Awasos should bite him (though I know Awasos seems to be more magic based and not virus so he probably can’t change people).. Or maybe he should become the first weredragon.. lol. Declan is my favorite character and while he is basically a nuke, it bugs me that he is a glass cannon with non super reflexes (even with his battle rune warlock stuff, he isn’t up to snuff). I know he can make shields etc, but anything he can do has to be a form of active defense/attack, meaning he has to focus/think/activate. I would really like to see a passive form of defense/strength for him.
While many would balk at any of these options because it could make him or others overpowered.. This is the first series where I have been ok with characters being overpowered. It works for me because they are up against such ridiculous odds. Considering the coming war with the vorsook, it seems reasonable to me for these things to become possible, at least to some extent. No one complains about Thor being too powerful when hes getting his face smashed by Thanos right?
Please forgive spelling errors as I primarily do audiobooks.
Comments, ideas, anything is welcome. ty!

ParticipantNo, none of the books so far have anything on turning a witch into a were or vampire. I asked the vampire question in another thread (I think Thoughts & Questions).
My question dealt with turning a witch into a vampire. Would they keep their powers? If they did would those powers grow as they aged, like other vampire powers?
I’m actually a bit surprised Stacia hasn’t bitten or nipped him in the heat of the moment, either in training or in bed. Her LV is apparently a good strain, having been modified by Chris’ blood & aura.February 28, 2019 at 1:20 pm #561awpz0r
ParticipantThat brings up another point. Chris and Tanya are both beings that are long lived. They can be killed, but otherwise have an unending lifespan. Werewolves don’t right? But Stacia having chris’ blood modifying her transformation makes me think that maybe she might be in the same boat. Declan however.. While witches live a long time, they do get old and probably die. While he is way more powerful than the average witch, and will likely live much longer, it seems he would still age. So Declan being turned into something else would fit imo, especially BEFORE he and stacia have kids.. so the kids can be extra super. and then they can grow up and marry chris and tanyas kids and all shall be right in the universe.

ParticipantDeclan is a realm holder so perhaps his tie to middle fairy has increased his lifespan as it appears witch age is tied to power. He also has Omega and knowing him he’s probably already working on a solution to immortality for Declan.

ParticipantRight. I am just trying to make guesses as to what the solution may be. I could see him using nanites to constantly release small amounts of chris/tanya blood over time to slowly change him into something cool. Though I really do want a weredragon situation. There are weres of various species, they had to originate from somewhere, so why not make a dragon option? It seems like LV is earth based, there were only a select few people on fairy and they had been altered by the fae, perhaps if there were dragons on earth a new strain could develop.

ParticipantWeres (LV) & vampires (V2) may have originated from prehistoric alien contacts fiddling with our viruses & DNA to breed stronger slaves/bodyguards. There was a reference to the Vorsook using gates that “gods” semi-friendly to humans used to come through. The assumption being those “gods” lost the fight against the Vorsook & are one with the dinosaurs.
It sounds as if both LV & V2 are variants of the rabies virus, modified to include supernatural abilities. I imagine Thomas is right, Omega may be analyzing Chris’s blood to find a way to give Declan biological immortality without having to be a vampire or were.
Dragons aren’t native to Fairy, so there must be another world out there were they came from, presumably with an ass load of dragons on it. It may be the same world the Dwarfs they saw in the Winter Court tapestries came from. It’d be interesting to find a gate there & send an expedition, maybe with a dragon & Ashley along to talk to them before they ate the explorers. I wonder if dragons like to hoard gold like the ones in literature? Maybe it helps moderate their metabolisms like reactor rods for nuke plants. Or maybe they’re just OCD.February 28, 2019 at 7:52 pm #565awpz0r
ParticipantI like it! As we discuss this I keep trying to find excuses for Declan to become a weredragon. So what if… Omega discovers that the reason that witch’s cannot be turned (assuming they can’t), or when they are turned lose their magic(again, assuming this is the case).. is because they cease to be human (assume this is the case for vampires as well as weres), the virus changes them into a being that is mundane.. wolves cannot use magic, therefor a werewolf is non magical. But! by combining various aspects of chris and tanyas blood, as well as the blood/venom/dna of a dragon, is able to turn Declan into a weredragon because dragons ARE magical in nature, he can still use magic. A drawback to this might be that it consumes both calories and his own magical reserve to use dragon or dragon hybrid form. Ways to sustain himself would be increased calorie intake, drinking blood, and using the Erwin technique of harnessing the energy around him to restore his reserves (not possible for current Erwins to do I don’t think, but this would be part of the change) This could also mean that a human can only change into a weredragon if they are strong in magic.
The flaw in this argument might be that we have seen breeding between witch and were can make a hybrid of the 2, but I would argue that being infected with LV is changing you from one being into another, where as procreation would be a combination of the two. Does that argument seem sound at all? lol
Way too overpowered, but I love it.

ParticipantThe last book kind of answered the question about magic and the LV virus. While Declan was healing with the infused LV virus from Senka and Chris he could not draw outside energy into himself because it would realign his cells back to magic usage versus the healing benefit provided by his cells being realigned by their LV additions. So if a witch can be turned most likely they would lose some if not all the cell alignment needed to use magic effectively. So maybe a were or vampire with limited magic could be the result. The demon-were hybrid could do magic, but used very little of it from what I read.
