I concur about the most feasible idea being the anime version of it. There they don’t have to worry about CGI costs and scope of world.
This also addresses MarkDavid and Czehner’s point about visual fit for cast to an extent especially depending on the drawing style.
I agree with the specific point they made about hotness but think it extends to other things as well.
Like Chris’s body and skin tone transformation in the first few books or what Robbie and Draco look like etc.This is something that Butcher has said would likely be the best bet for the Dresden Files in the youtube interviews that I have seen of him.
I would prefer the full HBO or Netflix live action approach but find it unlikely to happenJust in relation to the hotness factor, if prosthetics were used to ugly up an actor or actress in their initial episodes, this could account for Chris or Stacia or other bitten Were’s or Vampire’s suddenly getting hotter. I think a caucasian dog for “The stomach with teeth”, the bear and the beast form would have to be CGI though or a combination of that and good puppetry.
But as previously stated, if John gets his TV show, there will be an absence of books over the period, just look at GOT.

Good Morning, I am a big fan of both Jim and John. Re: TV series, one of (the many) biggest flaws of the Dresden Files was the casting. I could not get past them casting a short Harry and a tall dark Karen??? Oddly, I thought that having Bob manifest as a character was innovative and worked better than expected. Overall, the TV Dresden Files was better seen as a low budget “different universe” than the book series.
A DA TV/movie series would need strong tough author input and creative adaptation as well as great casting (see Pinterest for ideas).
