So I am listening the 8th or 9th time through the Audiobooks. And I have made my displeasure clear about the treatment of Declan. But this time it is not about that. In Winterfall when Declan needed to trait spit or blood to get Nanites from Caeco even Tanja said that it was just a kiss and blah blah…. (I agree with her in that it really is just a kiss and it was more important than any old feeling or jealousy). But I find it a bit hypocritical of her. When I think in earlier books if Stacia hat important Infos or something like this and would only give them up after a kiss from Chris. Tanja would have killed or tortured her to get the Info. And with Steclan (who have at least from Stacias pov a similar bond) she is just like yeah whatever. I find that more than a little bit hypocritical.

Yeah its a very interesting viewpoint that she can say oh it’s just a kiss but she flipped out and almost killed Stacia when she thought she had slept with Chris.

Yeah the whole Steclan relationship is weird, forced and pretty cringeworthy when you look at it too closely.

Hey everyone (spoilers for wunterfall) The Tanya thing doesn’t bother me all that much. Sometimes a trigger in your own relationship doesn’t seem as momentous when you’re on the outside looking in. I mean the end of the world is at stake, why would your relationship matter in the face of that.. Just kiss her and let’s move on. Well until it’s your relationship, then it’s a pretty big damn deal lol. Anyway, That doesn’t bother me as much as C.A.E.C.O turning in to such a vindictive bitch. TRUST ME I understand not wanting to do anything that will help an ex, but I shure as hell wouldn’t try and blackmail a kiss out of one. Especially is their new boy/girl friend could kick ny ass. I don’t want to get into spoilers for other books so I’ll stop here.

In all fairness, there’s a huge difference between kissing someone and sleeping with someone. I think a better analogy would be Tanya flipping out when Stacia went with Chris to the school in Forced Ascent. Just sayin!

If you think about Stacia’s behavior, her falling for Declan is consistent with her behavior in Demon Driven.

Chris saved her from a monster and she starts to have feelings for him. In a later book, can’t remember which one right now, he fights three werewolves to the death for her and it cements in her mind that she wants him. The fact that his blood getting in her wound creating the beginnings of a mate bond didn’t help.

Enter Declan. She spends some time with him in College Arcane and they hit it off during training. After all, she’s lonely and an outcast, just like Declan.

In God Hammer Declan saves her from a monster, and they spend all summer working together and she gravitates to him because Declan and Chris are the same character type.

As far as Caeco, yeah. I liked her character, but her and Krupp turned into raving bitches almost over night and the whole thing was weird.

My issue with that relationship ship is not that it was inconsistent. But that is not fair to Declan. I don’t like the idea that Declan is stacia’s second choice and when she figured out that she couldn’t have Chris she reluctantly settled for Declan.

Grumpy Bear you are correct there is a difference but Tanya objects to Stacia looking or even touching Chris. I agree with you that Stacia falling for Declan is consistent because it follows a similar story arc to why she fell for Chris. I will say idk if it is because of Declan’s age or how he was raised but he seems to be even more respectful of Stacia then Chris was. Chris was never bad or anything but the way he would sometimes describe Stacia was very sexualized whereas Declan seems to do this much less.

None of you see to be considering what part her wolf played in her feelings for Declan. I got the impression it was her wolf who claimed Declan first and it took Stacia awhile to get with the program and look at Declan in a new light. I mean, in Rogues, she is clearly conflicted and doesn’t come to her senses, so to speak, until several of the men staying at the hunting camp point things out to her. But again, the wolf knows.

As for Tanya’s behavior – people and perspectives change. In the beginning, when Stacia was trying to take Chris away from her, Tanya was insecure and jealous. Then, after Trent died, she had a huge revelation and it changed a lot of things for her. So, Stacia is no longer a threat. Tanya knows she’s been with Chris basically since the beginning of time and no one is going to change that.
